Many women around Utah experience pelvic organ prolapse, such as a prolapsed uterus or bladder, at some point in their lives, and while it is generally not a life-threatening emergency, it is something that can be treated through minimally invasive means from Dr. Amber Bradshaw-Whitear at Ogden Clinic.
Pelvic organ prolapse (POP) occurs when a pelvic organ slips out of place, due to the weakening of the supportive structures. One of the most common symptoms of this issue is a sensation of pelvic pressure or a protrusion of tissue from the vagina. Patients in Layton, Kaysville, Syracuse, Hooper, Brigham City, Bountiful, and surrounding communities with a prolapsed uterus, bladder, or other pelvic organ might notice that symptoms are mild or unnoticeable while lying down, and typically worsen as the day progresses, after hours of standing, squatting, or other common daily activities.
